Terms of use

Phrasary is free to use. These are the few things you should know before relying on it.

Last updated 23 September 2026

Using the site

You may read and use Phrasary freely for personal, educational and similar purposes, including copying individual entries for your own use. The site's text and data are © 2026 Phrasary. Please do not republish the site's content wholesale, or extract it in bulk for reuse, without permission.

Accuracy

Phrasary holds itself to three different standards, and it is worth knowing which applies to what you are reading.

  • The phrase, script and vocabulary tables are compiled data that passes mechanical checks before publication. Those checks catch what a machine can catch; they do not make the tables error-free.
  • Editorial notes are published only after a speaker has verified them, and cite their sources.
  • The translate box is machine translation and is not checked at all.

Do not rely on any of it where a mistake could matter — medical, legal, safety or financial situations. For those, consult a qualified speaker or translator.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Phrasary is not liable for loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content.

Changes

These terms may change. When they do, the date at the top changes with them, and continued use of the site after that date is acceptance of the updated terms.
